We are building an AI-augmented engineering team for our e-commerce platform. You will own the CI/CD pipeline, deployment infrastructure, and the AI agent platform that the entire team depends on.
The platform already has GitHub Actions (two workflows: build and release), SonarCloud for static analysis, and Netlify for hosting. Your job is to extend this into a world-class quality pipeline: lint → test → SonarCloud → AI code review → E2E tests → preview deploy → production deploy. You will also build the infrastructure for 6 AI agents that run on every pull request, including a Code Review Agent powered by the Anthropic Claude API.
This is not a traditional DevOps role. You are building the intersection of CI/CD and AI. If you’ve wanted to work with LLM APIs in production infrastructure, this is that role.
What you will do
- Extend existing GitHub Actions workflows (build.yml + release.yml) with lint, test, AI review, and E2E stages
- Build and maintain infrastructure for 6 AI agents powered by the Anthropic Claude API (code review, bug detection, test generation, documentation, feature development)
- Implement a two-tier override mechanism: agent-skip (senior team) and full-bypass (Head of Engineering only) with audit trail
- Configure branch protection rules, environment promotion (staging → production), and deploy authorisation
- Implement automated rollback (currently takes 30–45 minutes manually – target: under 2 minutes)
- Set up dependency vulnerability scanning (Dependabot), pre-commit hooks (husky/lint-staged), and secrets rotation
- Manage Netlify deployment configuration, preview deploys, and production deploy triggers
- Own Anthropic API billing, usage monitoring, and cost optimisation across all agents
- Write operational runbooks for deployment, rollback, incident response, and agent troubleshooting
- Set up monitoring dashboards and alerting in Datadog
What you bring
- 5+ years DevOps or platform engineering experience
- Strong GitHub Actions experience – you’ve authored complex workflows with matrix builds, reusable workflows, and custom actions
- Experience with Netlify, Vercel, or Cloudflare Pages (JAMstack deployment patterns)
- Comfortable scripting in TypeScript and Node.js
- Experience integrating third-party APIs into CI/CD pipelines (rate limiting, error handling, retry logic)
- Understanding of SonarCloud or equivalent static analysis tools
- Strong secrets management and environment configuration experience
Bonus (not required)
- Experience with LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI) – understanding of token limits, cost management, prompt engineering
- Docker / containerisation experience
- Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi)
- Monitoring and alerting (Datadog, Grafana, PagerDuty)
