As the Junior Engineer or Data Analyst you won’t just be consuming data; you will be helping to curate it.
Working within the Google BigQuery ecosystem, you will handle the transition of data from its “Silver” (cleansed) state to its “Gold” (business-ready) state. You’ll spend your day split between writing SQL/dbt and designing high-performance business reports in Looker Studio as well as Power BI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visualization & Reporting: Build and optimize intuitive dashboards in Looker and Power BI.
- Semantic Layer Management: Write and maintain LookML (Looker’s modeling language) to ensure metrics are defined once and used everywhere.
- Data Transformation: Perform “Analytics Engineering” tasks using dbt—writing modular SQL to clean, join, and aggregate raw data into curated tables.
- Data Quality & Governance: Use Dataplex to document data assets and ensure that the dashboards you build are powered by high-quality, governed data.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Senior Data Engineers to understand upstream changes and with business users to translate their questions into technical requirements.
What we are looking for:
- SQL Proficiency: You are highly comfortable with SQL (joins, CTEs, window functions) and have experience querying BigQuery or similar cloud warehouses.
- BI Tooling: Proven experience building reports in Power BI or Looker.
- You have a basic understanding of (or a strong desire to learn) dbt, version control (Git), and data modeling principles.
- Analytical Mindset: You don’t just report numbers; you look for trends, anomalies, and the “why” behind the data.
- Ideal candidate will have experience in the Retail and/or eCommerce environments
- Work onsite office location in Ortigas, Pasig City
